DeckTact

DeckTact is a fast, lightweight skirmish wargame that uses a standard deck of cards instead of dice and rulers. Command a small squad of miniatures or tokens across battlefields built from everyday objects. Books become hills, cups become towers, and coins or dice make perfect supplies.

Movement, range, and combat are all measured and resolved with the same deck, keeping play fluid and focused on tactical decisions rather than complex rules. Every action is decided by playing a card from your hand or Top-Decking face down, then revealing simultaneously. Higher totals win. Players constantly balance certainty against risk. Do you play from hand for control, or draw blind for a chance at something better?

Ranges are measured using the edges of poker cards, while Jokers, removed before play, serve as simple measuring tools. The result is a fast, unified system where cards drive every aspect of the game.

Each player commands a small squad of Light, Medium, Heavy, and Mage units, each with unique strengths and faction abilities. Blue fights with precision and range, Red endures and hits hard, and Yellow excels at speed, disruption, and battlefield control.

DeckTact is designed to be quick to set up and fast to play. There are no dice, no rulers, and no lengthy rulebook. Just cards, tactics, and imagination. Whether played on a kitchen table, at a club night, or at a convention, every match feels dynamic, risky, and full of decisive card-driven action.

Inspired by games such as Tribal by Lon Teal and Aramiha Harwood, DeckTact blends tactical depth with the simplicity of everyday play. It rewards clever positioning, careful risk management, and making every card count.
